Replaced the sensor and it did not made any difference.

Module on the rear looks clean but then obviously I can’t tell if one relay is faulty. My hunch is the relay switches on the module being faulty as it is not responding to the temperature setting of 160 degs. The display panel is showing the actual temperature until it reached to the set temperature yet still over heating.

owner is keen to have it repaired, and I just wanted to be sure that I am not making a expensive mistake. What have others found?

    thanks Matt

when relays go faulty they either dont close or stick closed

use a multimeter on the relays and see if one is short circuit

How do I test the relays while in situ? Concerned that it would give false readings.

if its closed it will be zero ohms
the lowest you would get in circuit would be an element which would be 20 ohms or so

if in doubt disconnect one wire off each element

The relays do fail on them and stay on causing overheating
