    hoover washer dryer. modelWDXOC485A/1-80. S/N3100805217286050. the original fault on this washer dryer was not spinning. would just do distribute speed all the way through spin. (NO CLOTHES IN DRUM). i diagnosed (wrongly) it was the main pcb control board. I fitted the new board and it does a short test of the machine when first switched on, it did a short spin on the final test. when i try the machine on spin it does the same original fault. its not carbon brushes as it has new ones fitted. I took the belt off, tried it again and it went into spin. that was the one and only time i could get it to spin with the belt on or off. has anyone had a motor creating this fault? its the only other thing i can think of. the motor speed seems normal.

    since over the years small earth leaks on elements cause all sorts of faults have you tried disconnecting elements to see what happens ?

    hmm. i have had problems with earth faults on element on hoover machines before. good shout Dave. we going back out and giving the machine a good check over.
