Gas hob is 7 years old and out of warranty. All hob burn normally and auto ignition works, but central burner (large wok type) has started ‘clicking’ (igniting) slowly whether gas is on or off. Have cleaned it thoroughly with acetone and run burner for 5 mins to make sure there is no moisture. Have tried isolating power a few times and problem persists. Burner switch cleaned too and seems ok. Does anyone have any ideas what the fault might be please? Parts are too expensive to guess!

Are you gas safe qualified is the 1st question

if not you shouldn’t be repairing

whatever the fault is, and i suspect it may be the ignition module, As Kai said it can only be repaired by a gas safe enginneer as the hob would have to be removed from the gas supply

also you say that one ring is clicking but normally ignition units spark all the rings at the same time. it would be unusual to have seperate spark generators

I cant check as Bosch spares site does not seem to work at the moment

Hob has just the one spark ignition pack, part number 12012571 about £20.00.
