ParticipantWe have had the Miele TMB140 WP condenser drier for 6.5 years, without fault. However it’s now started to display a red telephone symbol.
The drier starts perfectly normal then after some time it will stop heating and display a red telephone symbol. All the filters are clean and the water container is emptied after every cycle. There is water going to the water tank each cycle.
Any ideas before I phone Miele

Moderatorunfortunately miele keep tech info to themsewlves
it would need to be scanned by a technition to find the fault code to acertain the fault
all you can do as a user is to make sure all filters and the evaporator is clean of fluff so you have maximum air flow
its also unlikely any independant engineer would be able to find the fault unless they are lucky

Thanks Dave.
Following posting I’ve done a little more observation. I didn’t realise at first, but the display stops on 002. At first I thought that this was the time left on the cycle, But after several observations I now think its an error code. If so, I believe its for the Temperature Sensor used to measure the Refringent temperature, being open circuit. Miele state that this is not user fixableApril 6, 2024 at 4:54 pm #490047electrofix
Moderatorall they mean by that is they dont expect the average user to take tha case off and change parts
if you know which part it is and you can change it then miele will sell it to you

Moderatorwell as far as i can see the error is a temp sensor open circuit
so as an engineer i would pull the stat cable off and measure it
I think is may be the stat on the compressor and since its less then £15 from miele it cant be a big problem to try it and see
Also buy parts direct from miele as other suppliers are often dearer

ParticipantI was unable to get to much from the back of the machine and couldn’t work out how to get the side of the machine off. I think I’m going to call out a professional to get this repaired
