ParticipantHi, Do any other engineers know where i can get an armature to fit an Hotpoint WM61,900 spin, Green label motor? Tryed Washvac and Electrupart without success.
Also, Hotpoint Washer/Dryer WD51. The Thermal fuseon top of dryer element keeps going open circuit. Changed both fuse and Stat twice now. it’s now gone again. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I now use ARM 20’s from Qualtex, there are still some genuine ones about but becoming scarce.
The 1600870 does seem to fail more than it should given its 185° temp rating, sometimes caused by user switching off before end of cycle, or prolonged use of the dryer.

A lot of probs with thermal fuses are caused by the user not letting the timer advance through tumble cool. They tend to check if the clothes are dry during the cycle, then switch off the dryer….no air circulation, element still red hot , all the heat rises and POP!!!
Educating the customer is always a good start. Tell them
‘Buy a separate washer and dryer’ 😉 .
Blockages in the airflow can cause this also. Check the condenser.Tony C

I would go along with Tony on this, give that condenser a good clean whenever the thermal fuse has gone!
