    Hi All

Have an LG GSL760 american style fridge freezer that has no power at all. Apparently the door was opened a pop sound was hear and all power is lost including LCD dispaly etc. Im suspecting something on the board. Is it possibly a bad capacitor????
Any advice or links would be helpful.

    Thanks

if it happened when the door opened i would suspect the wires that feed the door electronics.

it will enter at top or bottom hinge

that may have blown more than the wires but you need to check

    Cheers Pal

Im not at home at the min but via facetime have established that the main board fuse was blown and went again when replaced straight away.
The front of the wall between fridge/freezer has become noticeably hot at the front between the 2 doors prior to it breaking down. Any idea what the cause of that would be? I will check door cable when home as its still shorting somewhere.

    Thanks

Ok I have checked the door and there is no cabling in the hinge so that is not the cause. The freezer door has a mass of them and checking them wont be easy. It was the fridge door that was opened when it blew though. What else should i check before installing a new board to ensure that doesn’t blow as well?

    Cheers

well the only thing i can think of if there is no wiring in the door itself is the lamp
