KeymasterFunnily enough I had a look at their accounts a few weeks ago and it didn’t look especially rosy.
I got the gist, from changes that’d happened and so on that there may have been changes made due to debt etc.
I have to say though that, in my opinion, Ebac (especially on the appliances (MDAs) side) they don’t appear to be helping themselves. Picking fights with the like of Which? is not a good play IMO as an example.
I reached out a coupoe of times to talk to them but radio silence so I have no inside knowledge at all.

Moderatorit would be a shame if they folded through stupidity and bad management decisions
they must be one of the only appliance manufacturers left in the uk

ParticipantI had considered supporting the brand when some wholesalers started to offer their products a few years ago but despite my initial enthusiasm the reality of having to sell an unknown to our customer base won over.
The manufacturer’s warranty offered is an excellent selling point but I don’t know how they’d go about getting a repair network off the ground, and again, whether customers would have confidence in that.
I also don’t think they got the brand or marketing right….but’s it’s probably a hard slog getting anything of this scale off the ground.

KeymasterNow I had a minute to look at this, there’s not much info out there as you’d expect but I stumbled across this:

ParticipantI’ve always quite liked Ebac as a brand but their focus on hot fill did agitate me a bit, pitching to an older demographic by the looks of it.
Interesting that they now offer more cold fill only machines than hot.

KeymasterI think the problem with air source heat pumps is that everyone and their dog is on that case, pretty much all the heating companies are into it whether rebranded or not. It just means there’s a lot of competition and I suspect a lot will be coming out of China at stupid prices.
As to hot fill, yeah, limited. Given that most modern homes won’t even have a hot pipe to the appliances, probably for the past 20 years or more, it’s not of much use to a lot of people.

KeymasterWell all I can say is, about the only person they could speak to and, even if they got someone else it’d be directed to me and I ain’t spoken to anyone from Ebac since way back when.
And, I have reached out to them on more than one occasion but I’ve never had any response.

ParticipantWhen I was opening up my shop, I thought I would give Ebac a space in the showroom, I also offered up my services as an engineer. They ancceptem my offer on both counts. Unfortunately they have a minimum order of 6 washers. Firstly, it’s only a small shop on a Scottish Island, with only a small stockroom space. When I asked about ordering single machines for particular customers. They said that I would need to make the order up to the minimum of 6 appliances. Needless to say, I don’t stock their products.

KeymasterI don’t get that.
I mean, I can understand that there might be delivery issues to remote locations but to insist on a minimum of six machines to indie retailers seems a bit harsh especially if they’re not available through a distributor.
But the service thing is just dumb IMO, what happens if they get one on the island at some stage, chances are you’re the only person that could service it at anything close to a sensible cost and they just hacked you off. Seems a bit stupid to me.
