all i can think of is the motor does not start causing the heater to overheat

often you can reset the stats did you try that ?

quite often there is a small hole on the reset stat between the terminals where you can insert a stiff wire. press gently till it goes click

was the new heater the same make ?

will look to see if i can find anything

as for part look up always start here with hotpoint

    https://www.hotpoint.co.uk/spare-par…iVY5vIRBRmZO7z

although you model does not seem to be complete on the site

also the front sensor will be an NTC not a stat

access i think is through the R hand side. if you look in the filter hole you will see the sensor and you can then see which way its inserted and where

there should be a stat kit for it but the hotpoint spares site is incomplete on this model

email Aswo or Qualtex all the commercial codes and serials and get them to request info from hotpoint or email the hotpoint spares site
