Participanthi fokes cx says not heating went. went out looked like one of the states had popped on heater, fitted new heater ,cleaned all filters vents ect.its one with 4 states. says used it twice now not heating again nightmare ..not went back yet,?any other problems with dryers that cause the states on heater to go again? if thats the case help

Moderatorall i can think of is the motor does not start causing the heater to overheat
often you can reset the stats did you try that ?

Participanthi dave the states dont have a reset button them.or is there a trick to resetting one ?the motor sounds normal .. my parts guy says there is a state at the front .. wonder if that was faulty it would cause this ? he then went on to mention the pcb :mad:..anyone any more info on it ?

Moderatorquite often there is a small hole on the reset stat between the terminals where you can insert a stiff wire. press gently till it goes click
was the new heater the same make ?

Participantreally that would be good saving having to buy another heater ..yes the same make geniune hotpoint .. do you know any thing about this front vent state causing problems .. ? its not listed on connect but my parts guy has them .. is it possible you could put a diagram up of where it is and how to get to it ?

although you model does not seem to be complete on the site
also the front sensor will be an NTC not a stat
access i think is through the R hand side. if you look in the filter hole you will see the sensor and you can then see which way its inserted and where

ParticipantWould a faulty ntc cause the states to pop on heater no reset hole on the states ..ffs :mad:might just pass on to.hotpoint pain in erse 😡

ModeratorIt has a power board on it I would be checking voltage to the heater or suspect something on board nit happy the heaters on these are pretty good part number for heater is C00729743
and part number for modules areC00729697C00856739

email Aswo or Qualtex all the commercial codes and serials and get them to request info from hotpoint or email the hotpoint spares site
