Samsung old model water and ice problems

Hi my first post so here goes, as the title says we have an old model American style fridge/freezer, model RS21DCNS, a little history on it, while in manufactures warranty it had the fan upgrade (ice building up and fouling the fan), several years ago it started dumping water out the door bottom and a new ice maker mech was fitted (by a extended warranty co)no more problems till a month ago when it dumped water again, this time no warranty as it was getting old so i managed to source a unit (70 odd quid) quite easy to fit after watching a U-Tube vid and worked ok then last week more water dumped! i turned off the ice removed the maker which was overflowing with ice, cleaned it all out and turned on, overnight it dumped more water, so with the ice turned on and the door open while pressing the door button and watching with a torch through the top flap i saw the ice tray twist round but the ice didn’t fall out, when the tray returned to its position some ice cubed flew out but not all, a small amount of water was then discharged into the tray so looks like its not releasing the cubes properly,
During the course of all this messing about the control panel stopped working, lights were on so it had power, then it started working again but now i get no water from the chilled water side, the ice dispenser part still works (i’ve been filling it manually from ice trays)
i can hear the micro-switch clicking when the water flap is pressed, so any ideas as to what part i might need, we don’t want to be spending too much money on it as it is quite old, but seems a shame to dump it as fridge and freezer are working fine, any ideas please, regards Ian

ok no need to reply, the water dispenser started working again! prob due to it being frozen when i was fiddling about with the panel, ice maker appears to be functioning but not managing to drop all the ice cubes out the tray, again this may due to over-cooling previously, fingers crossed
