The above W/D is under one year old, but as it is located at a pig farm, is not covered under warranty.

Hence, I was called, and visited at the end of last week to inspect.

Essentially, the wash cycles are “taking ages to complete, not always doing so, and sometimes displays the above error code.”

I monitored the machine on a 30 minute cycle, and it behaved perfectly – draws water, agitates, heats, drains, rinses and spins perfectly.

Near the end of the above cycle, an employee let me know that they quite often start a wash programme when they are leaving at the end of the working day, and sometimes find the machine is still on the next day…

He also said that there is often a repetitive clicking noise during a cycle, which became evident as the door interlock began opening and closing right on cue!

I tested the door interlock, and no Ohms readings were recorded between any of the terminals. Hence I ordered a new door interlock, which arrived yesterday.
(out of interest, I tested the new interlock which also does not have continuation between any of the terminals.)

As the machine in question is a long way away from “base,” I would welcome any help, prior to returning!

I would be grateful if anyone could confirm what E22 relates to, as my research suggests drainage/blockage/pump problems, and E22 isn’t listed on here, or Hoover UK’s website.

If not, I’ll fit the door lock and go from there…

as the hook goes in it pushes a slider

hoove tech is a complete nighmare but the few docs i found say E22 is a heater problem

cant say for certain as Hoover is transforming into Haier. so later machines will probably be based on Haier technology so will have a different fault code table

    Many thanks Dave,

I did wonder about a possible heater fault, and tested the wash heater for continuity and insulation, which are fine.

I did briefly run a drying cycle, and the dryer heater appears fine, but didn’t test it.

    Thanks again,

    jonty

Sounds like a wash heater is breaking down under load

I did test the wash heater for insulation and continuity, but will visually inspect later today.

    Thanks,

    jonty
