KeymasterMy 8 year old integrated Bosch fridge/freezer E-NR KIM3002GB/01 FD 7604 000032 has been suffering from warm fridge cold freezer syndrome for a few weeks now. Turning the control up to maximum 5 makes no difference to the fridge temperature (too warm) but leaves the motor running continuously and freezer functioning very well.
I have fully defrosted the appliance and left it switched off for 24 hours in the hope that it will restart okay. We do not wish to replace it because we will be moving house in 8/9 months’ time and will obviously not be taking an integrated appliance like this with us. I fear this may be an expensive repair – any ideas?

Hello Alexa. Good questions. Restarted the fridge last night, and now some 24 hours later the fridge has managed to get itself down to 5.9 degrees celsius. This is better than it has been in a long time. Setting is between 3 and 4, motor seems to be running continuously as before, but it is warm here at the moment. The freezer is fine (but it always was).
Think I’ll monitor it for a while and see how stable it stays. What should a good fridge temperature be? Many thanks indeed for your help.

Fridge temp should be in the range 0 to 5 degrees celsius.

Temp should be taken from glass of water, not air temp.
symptoms sound like either weak compressor or lack of gas.

Thanks, Simon and Boro – will check temperature from glass of water, as you say.
Can do no more with this one. If there’s no improvement, is this fridge dead, or would a repair come in at less than, say, £200 or so?

Checked a glass of water this evening – temperature is 12 degrees. Pretty hopeless stuff. Engineer time I suspect.
Thanks to everyone who responded.
