Not sure which forum to raise this topic on, so picked this one.

A customer needs to replace her washing machine (spider failure through corrosion was my diagnostic when she said there’s some grey bits in the filter). She had been using liquid detergent and we’re in a very soft water area – classic conditions for spider corrosion. I suggested she should use powder detergent from now on. She then asked me if laundry sheets would suitable.
Does anyone have knowledge on their composition? Would they have the required chemicals to protect the spider? Does anyone know what these chemicals are?

Nope, and I’d not recommend it.

    Powder every time.

It’s just better, you control the dose and it causes far, far fewer issues than anything else ever will.

For what it’s worth we took a pack of Dr Beckmann magic leaves with us last year for our six week jolly round France as they took up less room and were lighter.

They dissolved well with no residue left on clothes and did a good job and left a nice perfume on clothes. As an Eczema sufferer they were as good as our detergent back home.
