ParticipantThe door cables/springs are broken so that the door just falls under its own weight. This is normally an easy fix, but I can’t get access!
Any of you seasoned old boys remember how the heck you access the door hinge springs/cables?
Please see photos to jog your memories 🙂
Thanks,

Thanks for the part number Dave. I could find no way of removing the kick strip – no screws visible, so it has to pop off, but could get no movement when prying various locations. I read somewhere that the outer door panel has to come off first so will re-visit and give that a go.

Moderatorthere will be screws holding lower panel but the tail of the door hides them

Participantthe Zanussi dishwashers of that vintage didn’t use cords for their springs, they were hooked around the base plate.
you will need to remove the outer door panel (don’t forget there’s probably the lower screw each side to remove as well as the normal screws to remove the outer door panel, then you should be able to see the screws that hold the kick panel.
To be frank, at 24/yrs old Imwould consider a repair a waste of money, as so much will be obsolete for it anyway.October 23, 2024 at 7:06 am #491542Mark Flint

ParticipantBrackets fitted successfully. Took a while to figure out as the side panels cannot be removed on this model.
1) outer door off
2) kick strip off
3) metal frame with front legs behind the kick strip off
4) with door open, unscrew top of the hinge attached to the inner door by 2 screws
5) unscrew 2 bottom screws of hinge attached to side panel
6) remove bar which goes horizontally across the door connecting both hinges
7) pull the hinge down and it will come out.The part that took the longest was refitting the door latching mechanism that sprung out when removing the outer door.
