    Hi All,

I have a Candy Fridge Freezer just over a year old. The problem is the cool wall in the fridge compartment has recently virtually stoppeed freezing up, even when the dial is turned to max. At the same time, the green control light and the interior light failed as well.

After some advice, I replaced the control circuit board (as it has no conventional thermostat) The lights are back, but the back wall is still barely cool.

I have removed the back wall from the freezer and defrosted a huge lump of solid ice which had formed on the cooling elements, thinking that may be restricting the flow of air to the fridge. Still no change…

Can someone out there offer any further advice as to what it may be….please, living out of a cool box is not fun in this heat…!

    Other info to consider:

    The freezer is working fine.
The compressor appears to be running all the time and is therefore very hot indeed.
    The coolant is R600a

    Thanks….

    Post the model No.

If its a cyclic defrost then gas or compressor

If its a frost free then is the fan in the freezer running?

    The model number is CPCA291

It is frost free and the fan in the freezer compartment is working…

Re: Cooling problem with Candy Fridge Freezer

I have exactly the same problem with Candy model CFP24/11XGB. The freezer works fine, but the fridge compartment above no longer cools adequately. The freezer fan is working. I’ve fully defrosted the unit.

The only other thing that’s no working is the fridge light, but I assumed that was unrelated and just a blown bulb.
