    Hello
I have one of these and it is not working correctly. The thermostat selector on the righthand side of the fridge does not seem to do anything except when it is turned to 0 and this switches the unit off.In the past I am certain that the compressor has cut in and out when this switch was rotated. There is also a huge amount of ice build up on the back of the fridge. It is about 20mm thick about 200mm square at the top of the fridge. The door appears airtight. At the moment it is running at a temperature of somewhere round 8 degrees The numbers below are what I have taken of the plate inside the bottom left of the fridge.

    2001 202881
R143a 0.125kg (this I assume is the amount and type of refrigarent)

    Thanks for your help

This is a Thermostat or low on refrigerant fault you will need an engineer to check .

Try the find me an engineer search.

This was an MFI appliance and spares are available from AWS.

    Hi

Turn the unit off for 24 hrs with the door left open. Once it’s totally defrosted press against the rear wall where it was icing up and you will probably find that it is spongy and soft.

If it is then its scrap as the liner has come away from the evaporator. No replacement thermostat or regassing will repair it.

As Brian said sometimes the liner can blow on this model so worth checking.

    The gas will be R134a

If the liner is blown in the fridge then it is not repairable
