ParticipantGood afternoon all,
I’ve replaced the above main fan oven thermal overload cutout a couple of times in the last eighteen months or so, and returned this morning, as it had blown again.
There’s no obvious reason why this has recurred, and I wonder if anyone could suggest why?
I’ve definetely fitted the correct toc, but this time it has blown in a bigger way. i.e. severely burned/charred the ceramic/bakelite casing.
It may well be another obscure reason or mystery, as to why this has recurred, although it is concerning.
Thanks for any assistance.
Happy New Year!jonty

KeymasterA dodgy cooling fan or oven stat would be the obvious thing to look at, assuming ventilation is okay. There’s little else I can think on it being.

ParticipantThanks for your reply Ken,
Yes, the ventilation for the appliance is good.
I’ll recheck the oven thermostat, and assess the cooling fan operation.
Best wishes,Jon

ParticipantGood evening all,
Ken, you are quite right; I fitted a new TOC to the above oven this afternoon, and then tested the oven operation thoroughly, and the cooling fan is not working.
I can confirm that the cooling fan is not receiving any voltage, and wonder if anyone has access to a wiring diagram for this oven?
The two wires to the cooling fan run into a harness, which appears fine, although I didn’t have enough time to determine where the cooling fan receives its power from, and suspect another possible TOC fault in the system.
Thanks in advance for any help, jonty

KeymasterWiring diagrams for these are a nightmare, if possible, to get but if you can get me the ART number I will see what I have.
But most run from the main switch and they are a known point of failure.

ParticipantThanks again Ken,
I’ll return and follow the related wiring, and check the main oven function selector switch, which appears to be the likely cause of the above.
The other numbers from the ratings plate are: Serial No: 13040084, PTW11OFMP/N, & Part No: 1312AR1302

Participantp.s. Do you know if the main switch activates the cooling fan as soon as a heating function is selected?

KeymasterI don’t have a diagram for it 🙁
But it is a pretty “dumb” cooker so it will energise circuit for the cooling fan to turn on though it might not kick in until the initiation stat reaches temperature, then the fan will run.

ParticipantWell, I’ve identified the cause of the cooling fan not running…
I revisted today, and traced the wiring from the cooling fan; one goes to the selector switch, and the other to the TOC/Switch… located conveniently, near the right hand oven selector switch.
The wiring is fine, yet the above switch has failed.
However, Connect have informed me that the above is obsolete, which I’m sure is not the case! (I’ve requested a part number from Connect)
The TOC is a Campini Ty60 10/250 16/250 T210 43-12 50 degree C so, I await Connects’ feedback…
Thanks again, particularly Ken!jonty

KeymasterSafety thermostat is:
The cooling fan one is this one:

But I can’t find stock of it but, it sure ain’t obsolete.

ParticipantDoes anyone know where the cooling fan thermostat could be obtained? Part Number/s: 082634160, SPIA49230, Or IVLA49230 (thanks Ken)
Britannia (who outsource their parts to Belling) and Connect haven’t come back to me yet, following my requests for the above yesterday, although the parts person at Britannia/Belling thought that it would be obsolete!

KeymasterOnce I get things for UKW sorted it should be orderable but I’m at least a couple of weeks away from that. 🙁

ParticipantI’m still struggling to obtain the above part, and wonder where you might order the part from?

KeymasterWe’d have been ordering it from Italy as part of a larger order, UK suppliers were always scarce.

ParticipantI can obtain a Campini 45 degree c cooling fan thermostat, and I feel that would be fine, unless someone disagrees.
It would simply cut in at 45 degress c, rather than 50…
