    Hi all,

I woke up this morning to find that my integrated fridge/freezer was warm in both the fridge and freezer compartments. I removed it from its wall unit/cupboard to inspect it and it generally looks fine. No obvious signs of an issue like leaks, discolouration, wiring seems intact, etc. The fridge freezer details are:
    Make: Electrolux
    Model: KBI280
    PCN: 925694696

However, I turned the fridge off to remove it from the cupboard and when I powered it again it seemed absolutely dead. The light is on in the fridge compartment (so power is reaching the appliance) but there are no sounds whatsoever. I lay on the ground next to the compressor for 10 minutes and heard nothing, no buzzes or ticks and no attempt from the compressor to do anything.

I removed the compressor starter cover and all looked ok to me. The compressor seemed a likely candidate until I realised it was not making any noises.

Any thoughts on what I can do next (diagnostic steps) or possible causes?

OK, am closing this request. I did not originally appreciate how rubbish family life is without a working fridge.
I am skipping the diagnostics on my 12 year old fridge freezer and just going to get a new one. The old one will be recycled as I don’t have space to keep it around. Hence, please do not put in any effort to respond to this request as I will not be able to test anything (though I am interested in general in what might have gone wrong). Thanks.

well always first to check is the stat
but looks like the relay has been getting warm and you could have done continuity on the overload

if its a stat its cheapish to repair

anything else could be difficult or expensive
