I’ve read that modern toaster elements aren’t made of nichrome alloy but of an allow containing aluminuim, or possibly something else; and so they don’t last as long as old elements. Is that true?
I’m interested because some people claim to have had success welding broken elements with a spot welder designed for battery packs. But how difficult that is to do, might depend on the material; specifically on how hard it is to remove the oxide coating.

These days there is virtually no info on the as they’re not serviced at all really, certainly not commercially.

The only one’s I’ve seen any parts for really are Dualit and the odd commercial toaster but aside that, none and no info as they have been relegated to becoming regarded as throwaway goods.

    K.
