    Model: WVG30462GB/01 FD: 9810
    I was called to the above machine 5 weeks ago because the dryer wasn’t getting hot. The overheat thermostat had tripped.
    I cleaned the condenser and fluff blocking the fan blades. Reset the thermostat and tested.
    According to the owner, the machine has worked OK for the 5 weeks but has just stopped heating again. He normally uses the dryer about every other day.
    The overheat thermostat has tripped again so I have reset it and carried out further tests.
    The fan and condenser are clear, and the fan motor appears to run OK. I am not getting power to the valve during the dry cycle (the valve has continuity through the coil). Running the dryer on a 230-minute cycle, the element gets hot while the fan runs, after about 20 minutes the machine goes into a spin for several minutes while the fan continues to run.
    Can someone explain if the spin during the dry cycle is normal? Also, what triggers the inlet valve, does the machine have to reach a certain temperature or another condition before the valve kicks in?

    a lot of machines now go into spin on drying cycle.
    there must be some energy saving for them to do it

    is he stopping the cycle before its finished ? so it does not run cool cycle

    Sorry for the delay replying to this, I don’t get notifications even when subscribed.

    He said he doesn’t stop it early.
    When testing, the machine doesn’t like to be cancelled or paused during the dry cycle.
    Any idea when the water runs through the condenser on this machine?

    no but a lot of later machines are not letting water in till it determines if there is steam to condense. water saving

    I put a wet dishcloth in the machine when testing. Maybe it wasn’t enough.
