    Hi

I have a Hotpoint HAGL60K cooker and a problem with the main oven (bottom). Intermittently, the oven flame will stop but the gas will carry on. There is no pattern to it, it can happen 15 minutes after switching it on, or an hour in. It happens about 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time.

I understand that safety thermostat is a common cause of the oven cutting out but I’m assuming that cuts the gas too ? In my situation, its just the flame that goes out, can hear (and smell) the gas carrying on.

I have checked and cleared the bottom of the oven, removing the metal guard around the flame area. It was never blocked in the first place.

    Any advice appreciated. Thanks

if the flame is going out it suggests to me that the combustion process is not working properly. you have to have the right ratio of gas and air for the burner to funtion both safely and efficiently

in this case you need a gas safe cooker engineer to call and make sure your not in danger by using this oven

Have you got a carbon monoxide detector in the kitchen?

Thanks, I will take someone to check. I will go out and get a carbon monoxide detector immediately
