ParticipantHi all,
Hoping someone can maybe shed some light on an issue.
Have a Kenwood KSBSB15 fridge freezer.
The freezer side appears to be ok, compressor is hot on the discharge and cool on the liquid line.
Fan in the freezer compartment is working ok, the ventilation door between the freezer and fridge is opening and closing correctly.
Would I be looking at a thermostat by chance?
Thanks

Moderatorare you saying the fridge is not working ?
if fridge is not working there will be 2 ducts in and out. if out is blocked by ice it wont work
have you tried turning off at the plug and opening the doors for 2 days to totally defrost

Hi Dave,
Sorry. It is working it’s just not as cool as it once was. Set it to super cool and super freeze yet nothing improves.
Only noticed one inlet from the top of the fridge which comes in from the freezer side.
I’d assume the fridge side gets the cooling from the freezer fan motor but is regulated by the ventilation door?
I would of thought if the freezer is cold then that should transfer to the fridge side?
Many thanks

Moderatoryes but if you blow air in with no outlet there would be no airflow and therefore no cooling
if its partially blocked then it cools a bit but not enough
check the inlet flap if its open and not cooling it cant be a stat problem

Yeah true. Airflow. Didn’t think about that.
I’ll have another look and see if I can find another outlet as I’m sure it was just the one at the top but that makes sense what you are saying.thanks again

ParticipantOkay. Double checked.
Two pictures.
Main inlet showing flap that freezer air pumps into the fridge.
Only other thing I have seen is a small vent to the lower right.
Not sure what that is but assume the air maybe circulates through that part? That side does get all the sunlight on it.

Moderatorif there is a problem its often behind the wall at the back of the freezer. no amount of sunlight will help due to insulation
