ParticipantHi what does everyone use for the rear spring clips on washers . The one that are part solid wire with a spring to join. Bit like the front ones. My thumbs are giving out these days. Thanks

Moderatorno they are not easy
with a short spring you can use a spring expander pliers but with a longer spring thats not possible. its also difficult if you cant get the front off
my way of doing them is by no means easy
I put spring round as far as i can with the spring at the top. then i insert a screwdriver in one loop of the spring. if you then expand the spring the friction between spring and rubber will stop it moving. then with the other hand work the spring on an inch at a time. the last bit to go on is next to the spring
there is always this

since panapax is a H T Maddock trade name it may be cheaper going direct

ParticipantThe inner spring band on most Hoover/Candy washing machine door seals is virtually impossible to fit on site. I always replaced the band with the older nut and screw style part which Hoover list as the replacement, part number 41018408. Worth carrying as a spare and pricing into the job

ParticipantApologies, that’s an outer band part number. The correct part number fir the inner band is 41028754

ParticipantWhat a timely thread…..I had one of my guys call up from site at 7pm last Friday night saying he’d been there for 2 hours trying to fit the damn Hoover gasket inner retainer on a washer dryer. I went out to assist and used a similar method that I use on the other machines where the front panel won’t come off – long screwdriver through the door lock or door lock aperture. This acts as another hand to stop the retainer slipping off the top right section whilst you’re trying to work the spring over the bottom left. I was actually considering taking the drum out on this particular machine but got it done after about 30 minutes..but with bruised wrists !!! This added to my hate of Hoover Candy machines. I never recommend them and frequently write them off due to their lack of servicabiliy.

ParticipantNot just me then 😀 I usually bend the clip where the spring fits so it’s easier to hook back over. the hoovers really are a pain . literally

ModeratorI can get these on .I always put a bit of fairy liquid on the band and wear gloves and lubricant the gloves to, that being said its much easier to just fit the old type band
