I noticed water beneath my Miele WWI660. After pulling the machine out slightly, I couldn’t find any water behind it, and all the hoses to the back appeared dry. While cleaning the filter, I discovered a couple of springs lodged inside.

Once again, I noticed water pooling, seemingly toward the centre/left of the machine. To confirm it was coming from the appliance, I placed a paper towel underneath. From the way the towel became wet, it seems the leak originates from the drainage pump area. the pool of water appears to grow regardless of if the machine is in use or not.

I plan to pull the machine out again to try and locate the source of the issue. Could anyone provide assistance or guidance? I’m hoping it’s just a faulty hose connection to the drainage pump? Or could it be something else such as a damaged drum? If the leak is coming from the bottom, why hasn’t the leak detector switch activated (assuming the machine has one)? I have replaced a drainage pump on a Hotpoint washer many years ago and think I had to lie it on its side to do so. Can I access the pump area in this machine from below, and if so can safely lie it on its side, or should I put the transport bolts in if doing this? (I didn’t think to that before). Saying that I would like to identify the leak first, so will probably have to run it with the back and/or side(s) off. Are these easy enough to take off?

Recently, the appliance was making a lot of noise and even shifted slightly during use. I adjusted and levelled it, which significantly improved its stability and performance, returning it to how it was when initially installed. Could its previous instability or movement—or me relocating the machine—have loosened or damaged a component?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

problem with leaks it it could be from anywhere

a lot of Miele machines have an anti flood float but i cant see one on this model

you would take covers off and look at all the hoses including the top ones as it could be leaking from the soap draw and dripping down

so dont assume its at the bottom

Your machine apparently has the Twindos detergent system. It could be that which is leaking.

Supposedly, the peristaltic pumps and their pliable hoses can clog/rupture, causing the detergents to leak. The Twindos tank 2 detergent in particular (oxygen bleach) can cause rusting through the floor of the machine, and damage your kitchen flooring.

The first eleven minutes of this video might make some sense:
