Hi all, I’d greatly appreciate some troubleshooting guidance.
I have the LAM8302 slim DW. Last night I went to start a wash as usual, pressed the on button and then went to close the door and it would not close. there are no obstructions, no baskets stopping the door from closing, it flet like the latch not allowing the dor to close. I noticed that the cycle was starting with the door open which is srng as openng the door should stop the wash so the latch must be stuck in the closed position.

I applied some force and the door did close but the cycle stopped with the door closed. When I opened it the cycle started again. Water started going everywhere so I hit the power button.

Now the door does close but it doesnt fel like normal angagement of the latch, tere is no click or feeling that the latch is engaging when closing the door.

So as we are now – cycle starts with door open, cylce stops with door closed. There was resistance to closing the door untill I applied force to close it – not too much force – now door closes but latch doesnt seem to engage.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Thanks

You’d need to open the door up and have a look by getting the control panel off, usually some screws on the inside of the door as it’s possibly not broken but flipped into the “closed” position so the machien thinks the door is closed when it’s not. If that is the case then flipping the catch back to the open position should sort it.

if the latch is in the closed position you can flip it forward using a length of wire coat hanger with a 5mm right angled hook on the end

insert it into the lactch hole and hook it behind the latch mech and pull

put a safety loop on the other end and watch your eyes if it slips. best to hold it with pliers

Thanks Both. I kind of figured this out last night as it was behaving in the opposite way so I thought the latch must be engaging the microswitch when it should’nt so had to be the latch flipped – I took the screws out of the inside of the door and exposed the latch, removed the latch and flipped the latch back to the open position, re installed and we are all good now.

    Thanks !
