Posting this for my elderly mother who needs help with her washing machine:
    Hi
My Bosch washing machine is just 2 years old and out of warranty.
Lately it does not spin- it seems to wash normally but when it gets to the rinse or drain part of the cycle it starts beeping frantically and has the E36 or E10 messages flashing on the screen. I need to start the drain cycle manually several times until eventually it drains enough that I can open the door, but the clothes are still soaking wet when I take them out.
Does this sound like a blockage in the drain? Can I attempt this on my own? Or does it need a repairman?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

first thing always is to check filter

if its clear select a rinse with no clothes in and let it fill up
then turn off and select drain or spin only and see how fast its getting rid of the water. you should see the water going down in the drum, slowly at first then getting quicker. it should drain in less than 2 minutes if no you have something else blocking it

    Thanks for the reply.
How do I actually check the filter? Apologies for the ignorance… I tried opening the white thingy at the bottom but it was surprisingly stubborn and wouldn’t budge…

will if you cant unscrew it then things get a lot more difficult

quite often things left in the washing make their way down the hoses and block the filter. you find the filter will unscrew a bit but will only move a quater turn or so

if yours is like this you have to strip the machine to remove the hose from the pump, to remove the obstructions thats stopping the filter from movine to be able to clear it

hair clips are quite conmmon to do this along with broken bra wires and large chunks of fluff

E36-10 is as dave has said a pump fault so check filter if that is OK it will be the power inverter module

    Thanks for the replies.
I had a repairman over yesterday and he had to strip the machine to remove the hose from the pump like you said, Dave.
There was quite a collection of fluff, as well as a £2 coin that was perfectly blocking the diameter of the hose… so with that removed the machine is now perfectly working!
