ParticipantJust got a new Candy Tumble dryer and all I want to do is find a dry cycle using low heat (600w or 1kw) – gone are the days where you had the simple push button on the front of the machine with “Low” & “Hi” heat (1kw or 2kw element use) all I have on the dial is a load of icons – then a load of cycles in an app.
Also its got icons of efficency instead of saying low heat or high heat or in Kw terms – its got ‘low efficency’ which if I have a handle on it means that its “high heat”/high wattage? then ‘medium efficiency’ = medium heat (I dont know what kw that would be) then ‘High efficiency’ low heat/low wattage.
On our older tumble dryer there was a ‘delicates’ which I think was 1kw low heat instead of 2kw – but even with all these programs on the dial and in the app I cannot find a ‘delicates’ cycle. In the app I can find a ‘Delicate Tablecloths’ but that says medium efficiency … not high efficiency (which I think what it should be if it was a low heat cycle)
So I am at a loss as to what cycle(s) is 1kw (or lower) heat on this tumble drier. – I had an energy meter on the plug once and set the dial to ‘Eco ‘ expecting it to be 1kw maximum and the energy meter and the meter said it was using over 2kw real time as it was drying!
2kw all well and good its drying in around 1hr 15mins but the room is getting hot even with the window open and extractor fan on, an the wire and plug is getting warm. I would like to try drying at 1kw and see how it gets on I understand that will lengthen the drying cycle time – but it will also be kinder to the fabrics drying too drying at low heat.
there is a light blue ring on the left of the dial and I cannot find in the instruction book what this actually is for, I am sure its not just there for aesthetics? – maybe that means they are a low heat dry?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
