    Hi,

Im after a budget washing machine recommendation, around £300, for a 2+2 family.

I was thinking this hotpoint in 7 or 10kg, is that ok or should I avoid? Not bothered about features, just want reliable as much as budget allows and that it cleans obviously.

Is it more reliable to get 7 or 10 kg versions?

At the budget, I’m afraid you won’t get anything outstanding, they’re all much of a muchness around that and lower (some higher as well) but if you can, the Bosch machines do tend to perform a bit better.

Thanks. If I went the budget route is it better to get a 7/8kg version or 10kg if the price is both the same? I read here but an old article that 10kg machines dont clean as well as the lower kg ones due to how the clothes tumble down and also the tight packaging can mean more issues – being an old article is this still valid wuth todays machine? Because if it is i was thinking just getting a 7kg instead of 10kg even though they are priced like nearly the same? Sorry for the nerdy questions but its interesting!

Yes, that’s still valid info and very often there’s little practical difference in my opinion.
