ParticipantShocking, he has a new company called AC Appliance Repairs. One of his customers has set up a website to log complaints which makes depressing reading:

ModeratorGood grief, Mr T Clifton, that name is a real blast from the past. I am amazed at just how long these types continue in business.:(

KeymasterThankfully these days there’s not so many of them around, almost no repairers are cowboys now which is a marked change from days of old.

dont I know it
my main parts supplier was ESL based about 2 miles away so saw a lot of them at the trade counter.
I used to walk past the counter, help myself and write my own bill. to my knowledge no one else could do that. Often discussed with the staff about the clowns who came in. often bringing stuff back that was faulty due to their lack of knowlege. Staff used to ask me in the end about returns and many a time they have not got a refund due to me lolDave

ParticipantI remember ESL in Aintree, I used to buy new Creda washers from them in fives (for discount) and Phil Rylance used to let me store them there until needed and it was only thanks to Harry the delivery driver tipping me a nod that they were going bust that I got them before they closed…where have the years gone:(
