I finally have my replacement dishwasher (thanks for all your help electrofix ) – going to fit over next couple of days.

After watching lots of installation videos for the original install, i noticed that the waste pipe on my old dishwasher wasn’t installed as directed in the instructions. We never had any issues that i noticed in the 10 years it was in place but would like some pro opinions.

Our waste pipe is right next to the dishwasher – fitted right next to the cupboard and the original waste pipe was fed up from the bottom of the unit and over the lip of the back of the cabinet that was about 10cm higher than the waste it clipped onto. So although the hose was above the waste inlet the slack of the hose was on the floor (looking at instructions this isn’t recommended – yet it worked fine)

*Is this a major problem or is it ok? (As mentioned the original was fitted by the kitchen fitters – so I assumed this was acceptable when i was fitting as the hose entered 10cm+ above inlet)

The reason I ask is that the inlet is so close to the side of the cabinet/dishwasher. If I fit as directed by instructions – i.e. the hose going vertically up and then running horizontally along the wall – the hose will have to turn back on itself to fit onto the outlet pipe as the hose is too long. Would this bend back be ok? (the horizontal length would be less than 50cm before it passed the inlet hose so would need to run past and turn back)

(Or, is the original method OK even if not perfect?)

What is the make and model number of the dishwasher you have purchased?

    Hi, thanks for the reply

    It’s a BEKO BDIN26430

(I’ve just watched this Bosch instructional video and my original pipes were fitted like this (but coming from the back of cabinet and looping over) – fast forward to the 12 minute mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDYCE-Os2RM )

Although, my waste pipe was higher above the inlet – approx 10cm.

    Below are the diagrams/instructions.

The first green tick is a bit like ours but the slack on ours runs along the floor right to the point it starts to go upwards (Like a reversed L shape from dishwasher.)

Also, the red crosses on the diagram indicate the pipe should not be below dishwasher – does this include the height of the feet? (as technically with feet fitted the hose is below its outlet when touching the floor). If the height of the feet are irrelevant, i think i may be ok?

Small diagram – but makes things vey confusing and potentially awkward 🙁 Thanks again for help.

that diagram makes it look like the pipe is going under the floor

main thing is dont go up, down , up down so it cant form air locks

done many where the bulk of pipe along floor then it rises to the sink

dont think you will have a problem
