I have the above Liebherr Wine Fridge and Freezer.
The unit is about 5 years old. I bought it used ready for my kitchen renovation. And it has been stored in the house since ready for use.
When I initially switched it on to test it and let it run both the wine cooler and freezer worked fine. But within a few days the freezer temp started to drop and the alarm would sound. There was also some slight condensation on the stainless side wall at the base and on the front of the stainless freezer door so thought the seal might need replacing or the door adjusting. I switched it off and left it for several weeks. But neither the wine cooler or freezer are now getting cold and no alarm sound.
The compressor is running and I can hear what sounds like refrigerant moving through the wine section so I assume it is not out of gas. I have gone through the service menu and the fans switch on and off (on command) and so does the compressor. There is no obvious damage or leak and no smells.
I bought this thinking Liebherr was the best brand and expected 20 year lifespan (like my Miele or Asko).
I am hoping its a sensor but would welcome your thoughts and ideas on what to check

If it was sitting for five years unused that could have caused issues with the compressor, they’re not really designed to sit idle for long periods of time and what you describe doesn’t sound like a sensor problem.

It was not sitting (or stored) for 5 years unused. I bought it used (about 5 months ago) when it was 5 years old. It had been in daily use by the previous owner.
It started to play up within about 4 days of me buying it. I then switched it off. Albeit it now does not cool at all
The issue is either compressor not pumping but running or it has lost some of its gas charge, despite what you can hear circulating, the service number or serial number would help me advise you on its exact production date.
I have checked out the very last versions of the SWTnes 2900 made by Liebherr on UK versions 001 and 147 index’s, and the last 001 version 21A was made in 2008 and the 147 version 20F was 2007, so they are a lot older than 5 years.

I do apologise. I was away from the house and took the number from a similar looking unit from eBay.
Its a 3010. I attach the relevant sticker. I have seen the invoice from the Liebherr dealer when supplied and it was about 5 years ago.
The prodution date on the 25A was 9.5.2016 to 28.2.2017 so even at the latest date it is 8 years old, but the same fault suspected remains the same as before.
Tony.Thanks Tony. Invoice for £4000 is 5-6 years old so either old stock or shop appliance.
Is there any way to know whether it’s a pumping issue or low gas?
It seems prudent to see if it’s the compressor first.
I have had it running for an hour and the compressor temp is 56 degrees. Neither of the pipes are hot or cold.
But I heard that faint gurgling again (this time at the back) like refrigerant is circulating. The green light flashes every 15 seconds as normal.

The fridge likely isn’t cooling due to a faulty temperature sensor or an airflow/evaporator issue. Check the sensors, ensure fans and evaporator aren’t blocked, and try a full hard reset. If it still doesn’t cool, the problem may involve the expansion valve or refrigerant, requiring a certified Liebherr technician.
