    Hi,
    yes me again with my old, but not so faithful TDL34P

    It recently stopped turning, so I assumed it was the rear bearing. I replaced the rear bearing and spindle and yes it was worn. I also replace foam at back of drum and front. It now turns freely. However……it doesn’t always start turning when door is shut. Sometimes i have to open door and rotate drum by hand then it sometimes starts or I have to try again. Once it has been turning it then seems to be fine if I open and close the door and it returns to rotating.

    Is this a motor issue or the capacitor?

    Are they easy to replace. I saw it in there. When I was doing the bearing and spindle. Looking on line it is a 7.5 Uf capacitor. I am just unsure of capacitor as they can give a bit of a jolt. How do you discharge them?

    its unlikely to be charged but there are 2 terminals on the top, take a screw drive and touch it across both terminals. if its charged it will discharge with a pop so you may jump

    but as i said its highly unlikely and it will discharge through the motor
