ParticipantHi,
I’ve just been to have a look at a t/bendix AW850W washer with a strange fault.
If you put the machine on a number 2 or 3 (2 is 90 degree, 3 is a 60 degree) it starts by emptying then skips through to just before programme 4 and starts filling and washing like normal. The lady says it only does a 40 degree wash though.
I’m just a little unsure because i have never really tested one of these machines before on a hot wash programme, just 40 and rinse/spin programmes. I know one of the Bosch washers does this as normal, the programme you select at the beginning is just a selector for the temperature and skips though to the start of the wash programme looking like it doesnt do the programmer you selected. (dont know if im making sense now)
Is it the programmer or is this normal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Nick

Wasnt aware the aw850 did this but if its got an electronic programmer in it then its probably normal – the Zanussi’s do it so presumably the trictitty bendix will do the same, ie moves off the programme mark straight away, heating done at the same point regardless of programme selected but will heat to whatever temperature you first selected.

Also some Whirlpool machines do this. Had two exchanged before Whirlpool decided to tell us about it. 😛
Only way to tell is start it going, hang around while it heats and drain some into a bucket, see if it’s hot. 😳June 29, 2005 at 9:33 pm #139820grooster

Thanks for your help guys, i had a feeling that it might be the case that it was working ok.
Its just that i needed somebody that had more experience on these machines to clarify it. If theres an Electrolux expert out there or if somebody has the relevent discs (tds), if they could confirm this.
The problem i have is, that this is for an extended warranty firm and i have to get it right or i’ll have one awkward customer on my hands. Wouldnt bother if it was one of my private customers, i’d tell them what i know and if she didnt believe me she could get another opinion, but cant do this in this case, i need to know 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
If anybody has any more info, it would be appreciated.
Thanks again guysNick
