I have a problem with the filter warning light coming on intermittently and reducing the heat to the lower setting. this results in everything taking much longer to dry. I have cleaned all of the filters and also replaced the seals on the condenser unit without success. How does the machine detect the filters require cleaning? Is there an air switch somewhere I cannot find? I had this fault after a few months, but had it sorted under warranty. it then reappeared as soon as the warranty ran out. Unfortunately I wasn’t present to see what the Engineer did to sort it.
Would replacing the thermostat cure the problem?

The filter light is normally triggered by a thermostat or cut-out failure on the heater but as yours heats (albeit not fully) it throws some doubt on this but I would suspect at least that one of them is cutting out too early or the exhaust thermostat may be the culprit.

A visual check may show up as they can discolour etc at times.

    Power off befor checking :zap:

If the heater thermostats are the problem then it’s a whole heater replacement unit only I’m afraid 🙁

When the filter light goes out, the dryer goes back to the highest heat setting and works fine. The problem is it keeps getting interupted by the filter light coming on, and lowering the heat setting. I’ve had the element checked and its fine. Is there more than 1 thermostat, as all I’ve found is a thermostat and a cut out switch.

Is the thermostat normally open or closed?

Yes, there is an exhaust thermostat as well, all should be normally closed.
