I know we’re downunder, but we’re proud owners of an Ariston, UK model (and incidentally although ex-pat S. Africans, we’re not rugby fans at all).

After 4 years of trouble free use, we’re suddenly getting an F03 error. Would happen on a sunny Sunday, i.e. a perfect wash day in winter.

I’ve given the wiring and connectors a perfunctory check (will check more thoroughly shortly), however I’ve pulled the controller out and while everything seems in order I note the K2 relay shows some arcing damage on the contacts. Could this be a problem?

    TIA,
    P.

    Rugby? What rugby? 😆

You have a problem with the temperature circuit. This is a thermistor sensor. Common problems are broken wires at the sensor, or sensor failure itself. It can also be the computer board itself – if the other two are OK, then the board is the most likely culprit.

Power off before any investigations please :plug: .

    Ta for the quick response.

The thermistor. I see two probables at the rear of the drum. I recognize the heater element at the bottom. Is the thermistor directly above it with red wires? or to the right (looking from the rear) with a black and two brown?

    Done some homework.

The plastic one above the heater with red wires is described as a “TEMPERATURE SENSOR PROBE”, part# IND053573. I’ve now tested it up to 90ºC, it remains open circuit.

Whereas the metal unit is a thermostat which seems to function correctly switching off and on in hot and cold respectively.

Now to find the former on a Sunday before I can wash the car……..

Sadly never found one on Sunday. Never got to wash car either.

However, managed to witness the conjuring of a thermistor at the local agent (during stocktake), for which I was charged the modest fee of NZ$17.

You can guess where my wife thinks the sun shines from at the mo’. Yes that right, geniuses like you guys who run sites like these.

    Thanks,

    P.
