KeymasterHi,
Just wondering if anyone can diagnose the fault on our Zanussi FL1085 washing machine. Although it’s 8 years old and has worked every single day (more or less) without a problem, it has finally gone wrong today.
Symptoms are:
1. Programme wheel still goes through all the motions of a wash cycle
2. I can hear the pump going when it needs to empty
3. It takes the washing powder from the tray
4. It fills and empties with water
5. The drum never moves – motor never turns over or even makes a noise. So what do i need to look at? I’m pretty handy with electrical stuff and could probably have a go at changing more or less anything (after all, i’m forever pulling my car’s engine bay to bits and building it back up again).
All advice gratefully received, accepting the comments in the sticky topics at the head of this forum.

Thanks for the prompt response. Are these easy to get to and to replace?
It’s been a long time since i’ve been inside a washing machine – I assume the back comes off to give you access to the motor and the bushes?

Ok – that’s understandable. I’m sure i can work it out.
Where’s the best place to buy spares like bushes? Any recommended online spares outlets?

CAR72 Motor Brushes are most likely the ones that will fit this model? Available via emailing details of motor type to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk
