ParticipantWhirlpool’s main UK distribution warehouse for both spares and appliances has been destroyed by fire.

Expect major delays on parts distribution and appliance deliveries no doubt 🙁
Thankfully no-one was injured 🙂

I believe when fully stocked it could hold 90,000 appliances. I walked around the warehouse several years ago, shaped like a banana and able to receive train loads of appliances right into the building for easy fork lift unloading.
Suppose there will be a shortage of appliances for quite a while and I wonder what effect this will have on in guarantee repairs for their network in the months to come?

It’s just up the road from me, has caused caos with the trains and roads.
But ….. (trying not to giggle too much)
Does that no mean that they have a legitimate excuse for not being able to fix under guarentee machines ??
Had a really upset customer phone up 2 weeks ago with a american GSC9455 with a faulty pump, who had been waiting 2 months for the part to come from abroad…
I told her I could get the pump in on next day delivery and fix it the following day, After she phoned Whirlpool and told them that I was going to repair it and she was sending them the bill, they said that they would be down before the end of the week with the part that was supposedly still abroad.. Funny That Eh !!

Local news has it that the fire was started by a bolt of lightning splitting open one of the propane cylinders which is used to power the forklift trucks.
