Participantrecently decorated and I moved the Brandt fridge freezer model CFB360WU approximately 30cm from wall and now the fridge is freezing and the freezer is not freezing food. Have I damaged something . I was told to tip it upside down as the coolant needs to recirculate. Is this a wind up? I would appreciate any advice.

Not really, more poor advice. This used to apply to old “absorption” type fridges so please don’t try this with yours.
I don’t have any tech info on this model number I’m afraid, is it frost free – how old roughly please ?
Dave.

Thanks for your reply. It is frost free and approximately 4 years old. I have switched it off for 24 hours and I plugged it back in about 1 hour ago. I am not sure how things are going yet. probably will have a better idea tomorrow.

Sorted my problem. It is a frost free fridge freezer and it had frozen up. So I defrosted it. I know it shouldn’t need doing but it works now. some how the drainage tube had frozen up leading to a mass of ice forming behind the plastic backing, stopping any air flow.

Yep, I had mine do this after 11 months and they came and did some ‘modification’ after de-icing the freezer. Anyway, it still does the same thing approx every 6 months and I have to keep an eye on the food in the freezer and then get my steam cleaner out, take off the back of the freezer and defrost it!

Hi there we have had the same problem and are currently waiting for the engineer to come out with our 4th replacement curcuit board. Any repair carried out has been guaranteed for 3 months and so far the problem has reoccured every time within the 3 months. This time it happened when we were on holiday and we have been told we cannot claim for the food lost.
Have come to the conclusion we have bought a real lemon though thanks for the tip about the steamer. 😯August 30, 2005 at 10:59 pm #140625admin
