As reported some weeks ago Dyson took Qualtex to court stating that Qualtex infringed it’s rights by producing “pattern” spares for Dyson cleaners. At that point we expected an imminent verdict but it has taken until now to get the results of the case.
In effect, Qualtex has one the case as, out of the 32 lines which Dyson claimed wher infringed by Qualtex, only two have been ruled by the High Court as being in violation of any rights. Qualtex is working to ammend the issues with both spares and expects to have comparable replacement products available early this year.
Qualtex is appealing against the ruling concerning the aforementioned spares that have been deemed unacceptable to produce in their current form.
The vast majority of spares made for Dyson products by Qualtex will remain unchanged and on sale as usual.
A press release is expected in due course from Qualtex.
