Just recentley moved into new house been using the dishwasher ( Hotpoint Aqu …Mod No. DWM55) left by previous owner, which seems to work fine up until it has to empty then I hear a slight humming noise but the machine does not empty just seems to stop & nothing happens , I have done all the checks pump CLEAR, drain hose CLEAR no Kinks , NO blockages, I took the pump out & ran it applying 230 volts but the pump ran sort of slow ?
I was wondering if there was anything else it could be ?
PS : dont know if this helps but I noticed the machine inlet hose is connected to the HOT WATER supply ??? dont think this is right ???should it not be cold filled ???
    Regards

Assuming that the drain coupling is clear (You haven’t mentioned that 😀 ), it can only really be the drain pump….

P/no is C00096072, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk quoting part number will get things moving for you.

Thanks Penguin45 you mention the drain coupling ? not to sure what part of the machine this is ?is it the part that the filter sits into & the pump is attached to the other side of it , also do you know if the machine is tmeant to be connected to the hot water ?
thanks for your advice I,ll fit a new pump
    thanks again

As Penguin45 has exited stage right for this evening and your still connected I’ll answer from Oz although not machine specific as we don’t have that beast down here although concepts are the same.

The drain coupling is the end of the hose that connects to the pump. These often have a non return valve in them that can get obstructed.

Flush through with water or blow through with air (from the pump end with the sink end connected to the drain) to ensure no onstruction.

These drain pumps have no great force and therefore cannot blow out an obstruction.

Hot or Cold water connection is to me a matter of personal opinion.

Hot water can often halve your cycle times, but can sometimes bake food on where a cold fill will rinse off (although cold water is often in the hot water pipe till the tap is on for a while (I personally prefer hot)).
    Manufacturers can recommend either

The wash motor is wired in series on these machines if you have a faulty wash motor you wont get pump to operate.
