    Hi
We bought a zanussi zx99/5 2.5 yrs ago. Recently problem with the temperature in the freezer. Temp alarm kept going of. Called out an engineer who suggested gas or condenser. had it topped up with gas yesterday now getting cold enough and no alarms. However when it is left and settled and you open the freezer door you get a really loud girggling noise. Any ideas what could be the problem?
    Many thanks

It may be quite normal after a gas top up as some of the gas is in fact liquid. It’s hard to tell without hearing it to be honest.

If it’s very loud I would ask the engineer to come back and check for reassurance.

No more advice needed. Fridge was working well when we got home last night, thought we had best clean it out before filling it up. Hubby picked up a can out of the fridge slipped out of his hand fell on the bottom of the fridge and pierced it!!!!! So totally cuput! Any recommendations for a good replacement?

    Oops !

I would look at Zanussi (Electrolux), Bosch, Whirlpool etc, steer clear of the cheap end stuff and you won’t go far wrong.

    Sorry – Me again!
Really confused now. After dropping the can the temperature went right up again to similar to what we had before re-gassing, about zero. and same this morning. However left it on all day and come home tonight and the freezer temp is now minus 25!! Still making gurgling noise when freezer is opened. Will it be safe and should I be concerned gas might be leaking? I thought we had totally bust it with the can as it pierced the plastic Thinking of leaving it for another week before rushing out to buy another one! Any thoughts on Bosch?? Seen one as replacement thinking this one was bust!! 😡

House insurance may cover accidental damage !!

Otherwise if it works ok, and if it is only the plastic that has cracked, a good silicone sealant should repair the cracked plastic enough to stop water getting into the foam. Seems unlikely that a crack in the plastic should stop it working, but it does depend how deep and where.

Gurgling !??! Ask the engineer for his opinion as he was the last one to hear it. Even if he doesnt come back, he may well be able to re-assure you.
