I have had nothing but integrated dishwashers all week!!!

    AEG 448i 606.385 110

Customer advised the appliances threw the main trip. It passed on PAT machine. Stripped and tested all main components, everything checked out ok. Just about to give up and leave. I opened the door with machine still running and the baby blew!
Door wires are OK, door switch seems to function ok.
My hunch is door switch unless anyone has any better ideas.

    CDA/Whirlpool DWF412
Runs for a few minutes then stops and bleeps at me! Wash pump seemed to surge/pulsate, not sure if this is normal?
Had some of these whirlpool based machines a few years ago and seem to remember changing control units or NTC’s (or both) but cant remember too well.
    Any ideas?

The AEG one is a bit odd, I don’t think a door switch would take the trip out as there is no earth, unless it’s arcing badly which may 😕

The Whirlpool has probably got one of those silly massive Askoll circualtion motors in it. These are failing badly and are being replaced by a “proper” motor. This should have a 5 year parts warranty on it 😉

    Re: Dishwashers

The AEG is a pain, open and close door with the on/off switch off and its fine, with it running and it trips. Customer admitted though that she never ever actually turns the machine off between washes so I think maybe door switch has been arcing a bit each time she opens the door and over time its damaged it?
I didnt examine it vey thoroughly at the time?
Whats ur opinion? Am I clutching at straws?

With the Whirlpool, do you mean the wash pump itself? what are the symptoms if it fails?

    Hi.

Re AEG,have you checked the door loom were it runs into the base of the dishwasher?.
Some cables or cable may be rubbing and going to earth on the cabinet.

    Re: Dishwashers

As for the AEG, pull the machine out of its housing and check any wiring behind the machine, I have had a Hob cable insulation wear through over the years as the diswasher rubs against it hence just movement of the door could trip it out. Stranger things have happened, usually to me.
