    Hello,

Hoover Performa 1100 WA110-100 is not draining water. I had to drain it manually by putting the hose in a bucket and let grafity do its job. I think the pump has broken down *washing machine is about 4 years old) but as I am missing a sock I wonder if it could be stuck in the machine somewhere causing this.

Can somebody tell me how to check this. i don’t have the manual anymore, I can remember from previous machines that you could check the filter at the front by taking the cover off. I have taken the cover off and there is a hole where you can stick your hand through but can’t find something that opens.

Any advice greatly appreciated as our dishwasher has broken down as well and needs replacing, all in the space of a week.

    Thanks

After you have removed the mains plug!!!!

Take the back off the machine then if possible tilt it forwards and lean against a wall or the kitchen units. Get a low bowl and some towels. You will see the pump which will have one large black hose and one grey plastic hose on it. Place the bowl underneath and if you can remove the black hose from the pump you may find your obstruction in there.

Thanks for that tip. Will try that after taking the mains plug out. I always switch the electricity off before I go near any appliance, just in case anyway.
