ParticipantI’m awaiting my user manual from GIAS for my Hoover Vision HVP16, but in the meantime I keep getting Error Code 5 when I run a wash. Because I don’t have a manual, I have no idea what this code is.
If I set the dial to ‘Stop’, after a few minutes I am able to run a spin cycle and get the washing on the line, but it’s not gone through the full cycle.
Can anyone with the appropriate manual let me know what Error Code 5 is, and if there is anything I can do to rectify it.
Many thanks.

Error 5 is a problem with the heating/heating control.
Engineer time to be honest unless you’re OK with component testing etc.
Check Repairs@ for an engineer or if you are going to have a look, please unplug :zap:

Good Afternoon.
I believe that error code 5 is a heater or sensor problem, FIRSTLY PULL THE PLUG.
Then if you are reasonably technicaly able, check the heater for continuity with a multimeter or test lamp, if this is OK then then it will be best to call an engineer as it could be either a sensor or PCB problem, Check the Repairs@ section on the left ot the page to see if there is an engineer in your area.
If the heater is open circuit then a new heater is available from Spares@ also on the left.
Hope this helps

ParticipantThanks, guys for your replies. Any idea what this type of repair is likely to cost? (Rough ballpark figure)

Labour rates vary quite a bit so that’s best discussed with the engineer you call, the heater is about £20 if that is the fault so it shouldn’t be too expensive 😀
