    Hello All,

    I recently purchased a SMEG SUK92MFX from an electrical shop on eBay and I’m worried I’ve been sent a lemon!

    This first problem is that the main oven light simply won’t switch off. An engineer subsequently came and has ordered a replacement main oven function selector switch.

    Since then we’ve used the main oven for the first time to cook a roast and noticed that the fairly noisy cooling fan stayed on for at least 45mins. Does anyone know if this is normal? With our last oven the cooling fan typically stayed on for 5mins tops.

    It’s not unusual to be honest, the fan is switched by a thermostat and will only switch the fan off when it’s cooled down to a predetermined temperature.

    Bearing in mind the high ambient temperature yesterday, it may take a lot longer than normal. For piece of mind though, the engineer who returns to fit the switch should be able to advise/check it for you. 😀
