I wonder if you could help – I have a Diplomat larder fridge which is about 5 years old. It does not get cold anymore, the door shuts OK although ice builds up on the back of the fridge which is solid and will break away in one lump. I think it is still ‘working’ like it used do but just not getting cold.
That’s a system failure by the sound of it I’m afraid which may prove terminal. Possible gas shortage, compressor weak or insulation problem.
If it’s an integrated unit, which most of these are, double check that the door iis closing as it’s quite hard to tell with the wooden cabinet door on.
You’ll need an engineer to verify this though if the door is OK, check Repairs@ for one near you 😀
Readjusted the door from advise – it does seem a little colder inside after 1 day, ice has started to form at the back again, will keep an eye on it and see. I think it may have had it but we shall see.
