KeymasterDone a few door seals in the past, but they seem to made the access to the retaining clips a little more inaccessible 🙁
Any tuts? pics would be brilliant 😀

A hint would be good, can’t even feel any metal at the door side of the seal. 🙁

Could you check the model number please first off as W12S doesn’t exist I’m afraid, unless it’s a non UK model of course 😉
Taking the lid off may help also as you may be able to look down to the top of the door seal drum fixing, power off first of course :plug:
Dave.

Sorry Dave, 😳
I continued my typo from the first post, it should have been the often posted about WD 12S UK
It’s a bearing replacement job, the drum spindle has been released and moves freely.

In that case, stop 😉
You can’t seperate the drum on this model, it’s a complete inner/outer drum replacement job according to Indesit’s tech disk, at around £150 🙁

Strange, the only thing holding the inner drum in is the door seal 😕

The inner drum is secured by a four-legged spigot/bearing housing. Which, once the drum pulley is removed, is attached to the outer drum with 8 Torz Headed bolts.
The Door seal does not need touching in order to access the main drum bearings though 😉

Had looked at that as a possible alternative, and was worried that it might of been epoxied as well, some of the tox bolts are a little awkward, but nothing that can’t be overcome.

That sounds VERY promising, if I get them out will look for waterproof replacements at the local SKF stockists. 😀
Thanks Dave. 8)

Don’t go via Finland by the way 😆
(It’s a local joke we have going here on UKW, do not concern yourself over this statement, but enjoy your trip and look forward to helping you out more if need be 😀 )

don’t worry I got it 😆
I’m a mod on a Sat Forum so I had to scan the board b4 posting, have to practice what I preach 😉
The bearing carrier came off no problem, just the outer race from the inner bearing to go, pitty I gave away my collection of drifts 😥

If you do find some waterproof bearings please let us all know, 😉 like watches, water resistant and waterproof mean very different things. 🙂July 27, 2005 at 9:56 pm #1431402nd_johnnymac
