    Hi
Our Ariston Li62 integrated dishwasher has developed a strange fault.
The power button works fine, but the progamme selector button, that you have to press repeatedly to choose your porgramme, has now failed apparently.

Any ideas on the fix as the button now tries to recede into the door edge where it is “mounted”. I have taken it apart to look at it and the control board is very poorly mounted on the inside of the door. It seems that the whole thing flexes. however there is nothing mechanically broken so it just looks like poor design. Despite this is probably an electrical fault (eeeek)

Can anyone help? Had a similar problem? Is this an engineer call out job?
If so any suggestions for central London?

The damn thing is only just 2.5 years old….

Are you sure there’s nothing broken Mark ? It sounds like the control panel fixing has come away to me allowing the whole switch unit to move backward when pushed.

Power off when checking please :zap:

If you need an engineer, please have a look at Repairs@ 😀

Re: Ariston Li62 faulty control panel?

    thanks for this Dave

Definitely nothing broken that is visible to the naked eye – have had a careful look.
The control panel doesn’t respond to pressure as it orginally did. As a result people (including me) have tended to press it harder, so the unit has retreated into the door casing. But there is little to stop this that I can see.

Have tried the repairs service as I didn’t take out the extended warranty. Will see how it goes. 🙁

Any ideas how much a new control unit is?

From the (very probably the most horrendous spares diagram I’ve ever seen) it appears there is only one PCB in the door which accepts the commands via the buttons.

About £47 inc VAT so not too bad 😀

IIRC there are plastic lugs on the facia panel that hold it in place. If these have broken off then you will also need a facia panel.

Well the engineer told me it was the PCB – probably as a result of power cuts recently – quoted £176 to replace – not worth it on this machine.

Where did you get the £49 price Dave? Can I get it from there and replace it myself?

    😕

    😕

Ariston appliances carry a 5 year parts guarantee – contact hotpoint/indesit for £90 ish they will sort it out for you.

    Hi,

I have a problem with mine too, hoping someone on here can help.

When I switch the power on I can then select the program I want, but after a few seconds it just highlights the heavy program and refuses to budge no matter how many times I try to select another program.

The machine actually starts and water does get in and drain away but after 10 mins or so it just cuts out and when I open the door the program light is flashing.

Hope someone can help, its been in the kitchen for 2 years but used only three times.

Count the flashes between pauses which should indicate a fault code and let us know 🙂

    Dave, thanks for your response.

The heavy soil light flashes continously, it does not start then restart flashing, just keeps flashing.

    Cheers

Re: Ariston Li62 faulty control panel?

Heavy soil light flashing is a flood protection problem (flooded base).

Try leaning the dishwsher (with a towel handy) and see if any water runs out from underneath, if it does it probably indicates an internal leak that will need repairing.

Power off if you investigate yourself, or check the repairs@ link below for an engineer. 🙂

Re: Ariston Li62 faulty control panel?

was indeed a flooded base due to faulty seal. Many thanks for your help Dave.
