WHEN PRESSING THE ON BUTTON ON THE DOOR, THE MACHINE MAKES A RAPID CLICKING NOISE AND THE SALT/RINSE AID LIGHTS FLASH. THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE ITS COMING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR. ANY HELP APPRICIATED!

Is there any sequence to the flashing lights Simmo ?
Although this may indicate something I think you may need an engineer on this as the relay constantly clicking is rather concerning.
Have a look at Repairs@ for one 😀

THE LIGHTS FLASH IN TIME WITH THE CLICKING NOISE, TO ME IT SOUNDS ELECTRICAL, NONE OF MY LOCAL ENGINEERS WORK ON DIPLOMAT STUFF, APPARENTLY, SO I’VE HAD TO CALL AN MFI ENGINEER OUT, WHICH IS PROBABLY GOING TO COST ME BIG. THE WASHER IS ONLY 15 MTHS OLD SO I WILL COMPLAIN & TRY TO GET SOME MONEY BACK……….

They may if you tell them it’s a Whirpool (they manufactured this model and MFI have it rebadged to Diplomat) 🙂

Haven’t looked it up but if memory serves me right the module for this one is in the door and it’ll be the module that’s packed in.
Other possibility is a flooded base. This can cause the exact fault you’re having especially if it’s got the Asko pump motor fitted.DP
