Whilst in filling mode, either initial fill or rinse, the machine will stop and start to beep, until I press the start button again. It will do this more than once in it’s cycle. Can you please help me, I am able to carry out most repairs myself, and being a pensioner the cash is a little hard to come by.

It is probably blocked inlet filters. Remove the cold hose, there should be a filter washer in the tap end of the hose, clean this out and make sure when you put it back in the raised mesh is pointing into the tap. Check filter inside cold valve, get some pliers and pull out the filter, it comes out where the hose screws on.
If it is making a wooshing noise when filling on cold, and the water is coming in slowly, the cold valve needs replacing. 😉
