ModeratorThis is a query from a member of another forum I frequent. Personally I cannot see the point of stuffing the freezer full of all that milk at one go.
“Here’s a defrosting-related problem for you all.I have placed five six-pint milk bottles in our chest freezer, side by side. I thought I had allowed enough room for them to expand but I haven’t. They are now braced against the sides, and each other, and will not shift. There is a little frost up the sides of the freezer, restricting the width of it, but not much.
Can anyone think of a way of getting them to budge, without having to defrost the whole thing (and inevitably having to lose 3 or 4 of the bottles as we won’t be able to drink them that fast!)”

Use a blow torch on one of the middle ones but have a bowl underneath to catch the milk and use it to make milky coffee. 😆

I remember when i was in a similar position concerning pork chops,I found that the liberal use of a crowbar usually did the trick however the down side was that i had to buy a new freezer,i now keep my bottles of milk in my neighbours freezer thus avoiding this issue arising in the future. 😉

They must live somewhere remote. There are still people who live a loch crossing plus 2 hours drive from the nearest supermarket on the west coast.

Can report that using screen de icer did the trick, however he then had to resort to the hairdryer and several towels to melt all the de icer chemicals off the rest of the contents. 😆
